Emotional Release Therapy
Emotional Release Therapy (ERT) is a somatic approach designed to identify and release emotional patterns stored within the body.
We understand emotion as "energy in motion." When this energy is not fully processed, it can manifest as physical tension, emotional overwhelm, or a persistent feeling of being "stuck."
If left unaddressed, these held patterns often contribute to:
Emotional States: Anxiety, low mood, or difficulty regulating responses.
Survival States: Fight, flight, or freeze.
Physical Tension: Chronic contraction or a sense of "armouring" in the body.
Repeated Patterns: Persistent self-criticism or repetitive emotional loops.
Releasing Stored Trauma through the Body
In each session, we integrate psychology with de-armouring. This somatic technique supports the body in letting go of protective layers created during survival states.
By gently reconnecting with these stored patterns, we allow the nervous system to settle and regulate. This work is both deep and lasting because of its two-process approach:
Release: Safely discharging held emotional energy from the physical body.
Integration: Exploring the origins of these patterns to bring insight and awareness to the mind.
What to Expect in an ERT Session?
An ERT session provides a safe, contained space for your body to express itself in its own rhythm. We work with the body’s natural intelligence through five key pillars:
Presence: Establishing a grounded, safe connection.
Breath: Using conscious breathing to access deeper layers of the system.
Sound & Movement: Allowing the body to vocalise or move to discharge energy.
De-armouring: Physically supporting the release of "stuck" emotional points.
Integration: Afterwards, we explore what has surfaced, connecting the physical release to your emotional life and daily patterns.
